4 outfits for spring...

So I've been browsing shops online to come up with these 4 outfits for you just in time for spring (can't believe how fast time flies!).
After seeing so many other bloggers wearing clothes from Choies.com I decided to have a look at it and found I was in heaven! The clothes on there are all (literally all of them) amazing and not badly priced either hence why I included so many in this post. If you haven't seen it already, I'd recommend taking a look.

Checkered...

Here's my outfit today... I don't tend to wear trousers much (I haven't owned a proper pair of jeans in years) but about a month ago or so I bought these brilliant black skinny trousers from River Island (£35). They go with a lot of things so that's definitely an advantage and I really like the leather strips down the side (the photos don't do them justice). I'm also wearing my shirt I got as a Christmas present (from Topshop). I love the gold tips on the collar and the print is really lovely. I'm also wearing a necklace (another christmas present), my ring from New Look (on sale), my Topshop socks (3 for £7) and some snakeskin brogues I got in the sale (Office - £25). These are now my new favourite shoes. I justified the purchase since I had been spending the whole of the winter wearing a pair of shoes (also snakeskin - I know, there's just something about it!) that I bought for £5 from ebay (they were also falling apart).
Sorry about the photo quality by the way, I seem to have got into the habit of taking these photos in the evening when it's dark and the lighting is rubbish, but next time I promise to take them during the day!

What do you think? What's your favourite piece?

Dans La Vie

Ever heard of Dans La Vie? No, neither had I until today. It's a London based brand who have showcased off-schedule at London Fashion Week. I really like the idea of highlighting some lesser known (and newer) designers in my posts so that you can form opinions over whether you like them or not. There's some great talent out there, but many people don't get to see it (we only ever hear about the big names) so starting off with Dans La Vie. First of all: you'll probably love some of their designs but hate others. I'ts definitely one of those designer brands you can't quite make your mind up about, but give it a go...

Spring/Summer 12

Ok, so I've picked out the best designs here (in my opinion of course). I really love the prints. I've never really thought about prints before (I'm more of a style,
shape and texture girl) but these are really captivating. It honestly just makes me want to go to an exotic island and eat loads of fruit! I also like the style the first two dresses have. I love the pleats and how they give the skirts lots of volume.

Autumn/ Winter 12

Not my favourite collection (the best is still to come!) but still quite exciting! Again, the prints really stand out as the main feature in these designs. I would absolutely love to have some leggings like the ones in the 5th design. It's also interesting the way that the designer has layered up the garments - putting the jackets over the skirts, dresses over trousers etc. It's almost like they were thinking in a different way to everyone else.

Spring/Summer 13

This is a really exciting collection - there's loads going on! All of the designs have something unique to them. With my obsession of dresses with good structure, I love all of these designs, plus they're really detailed and well made. The first three in particular are brilliant and I love the choice of fabrics. Also, did you notice the heels!?
So what do you think of Dans La Vie's collections? Will you be watching out for them next season?

Rings and things

I found these two images recently that inspired me to write this post. I love the photography in both of them and the way that each highlights the jewellery as the main feature. Often in fashion photos you look at the clothes or the model so it's unusual to find photos like these. The rings below are really cool and it reminds me that I need more for myself!

I really love this look (above). I think what's great about it is that the shirt is very masculine but the outfit is made more feminine by the necklaces and the pearls. It also has a very antique feel.

I currently only have 2 rings (one from New Look and one from Topshop), though I love them both! My favourite kind of jewellery at the moment is gold - anything that's gold and has a edgy kind of feel is great. The great thing is that it can go with anything - literally anything!

My new necklace (River Island). I bought it just the other day but haven't actually worn it yet. It's such a statement necklace I wanted the first time I wore it to be a special occasion where I dress up so I'm planning to wear it to the school's christmas party. I really love how this looks with the shirt and collar in these photos .

I bought this necklace while on holiday in Egypt. It's more of a summer necklace so I haven't worn it much recently but it's definitely coming out when it get's to spring (at least).

My big collection of beaded/pearl necklaces. Most of these I've acquired from my mum, grandma etc. Although I did make the blue one. I always seem to have at least one of these on every day.

This one I also bought on holiday. I used to wear it all the time but don't wear it as much now. I really love the colour though since it stands out so much.

The gold necklace here I literally wear all of the time. It's so useful to just throw on and can instantly make an outfit look better. I got it ages ago (I can't even remember where from - that's an unusual occurence!) and it is actually falling apart slightly but I'm not going to throw it away!
The second one was a present from a friend.

Two of my favourite bracelets here. The white one was bought on holiday and the silver is actually one of those clever bracelet things. You can change it's shape and it can be a necklace or a bracelet or whatever you want. It used to be my mum's but she didn't want it anymore.

I've collected this assortment of bangles throughout my whole life and they're from various differnet places. I don't tend to wear bangles too much because they make a lot of noise (and it can be quite annoying walking around and everytime you lift your arm it makes a noise) but I really should wear them more.

Although it sound crazy this is actually a candle holder (or some kind of thing that goes around the candle?). It actually looks like a proper bracelet and it's carrying on my theme of gold so that's always good!
