I'm hopefully going to be showing you another textiles piece (like this one) soon if I get my act together and start making it! Besides that and a long list of coursework, I'm not doing much over the half term or for Halloween (I'm kind of annoyed at myself for not doing a Halloween themed outfit post though, I've seen some really cool ones around).

 Sorry this outfit's a bit scruffy but I hope you can ignore that and focus on this wonderful cardigan I managed to pick up at the charity shop last week. It reminded me of some of the pieces from this collection and paired with this skirt it would be the perfect designer duplicate outfit. It is so so comfy and is very good transitional piece into winter or summer as it's not too thin or thick.

Velour dress

This is a kind of 'outfit-of-the-night-two-days-late' post since I wore this dress to a party on saturday evening. I decided against heels (way too painful!) and the pearls are merely there to cover a drink stain I managed to acquire during the night (the photos were taken afterwards) but the dress was definitely a great choice for the evening. I bought it on ebay (seems to be a continual theme on my blog) for only £5. The surface of the dress doesn't come out very clearly in these photos but it's slightly sparkly and has a really nice velvet-y texture. I definitely think ebay is the best place to buy going out dresses as there's such a huge choice and so cheap!

Mock of a smock

I've been feeling pretty uninspired by my wardrobe lately (...an excuse to buy a whole new one maybe??) as I'm pretty bored of wearing the same clothes over and over again. So I decided that I'd spend a couple of hours today making this dress. I have had two smock dresses (here and here) but one shrunk in the wash and I left one in a hotel room *cry*, so this kind of style was an obvious choice. The fabric is also perfect for it - it's very lightweight and has a bit of a stretch to it. The print is very summery but I'd still be happy to wear in the autumn with some dark tights (such as below), my studded boots and a jacket. I'm still undecided whether to keep it for myself or add it to my shop - what do you reckon? I definitely want to make more dresses like this to sell though,... perhaps with long sleeves? Anyway, I haven't worn my silver heels in a while so I added these and a set of pearls to complete the look.

Pastel

A brand new outfit for you today. I bought the skirt on ebay for £4 but it's originally from Motel . I'm really pleased with it overall (nice pattern, very versatile and fits well - what more could I ask for!?). The heels were another ebay purchase (this time for £5). They're quite unique in their style with the buckle strap around the sides and the gold heel, plus they fit perfectly which always helps! Finally, the top is one of my Mum's old tops that was given to me (which I love the colour of!).

I'm going to have to start taking photos earlier in the day soon, as it's already starting to get darker in the evenings (summer has definitely finished no doubt about it).  Personally, I love winter but hate Autumn. There's never much happening and it justs rains all the time!

. Is anyone heading off to London Fashion Week this weekend? I was very lucky to receive an invite to the Holly Fulton show on Saturday and to the Kilian Kerner presentation on Friday. Has anyone been to a LFW presentation before? ...I'm not sure whether it's worth travelling all the way into London for? Anyway, I'm pretty excited to see the catwalk show (well, as much of it as I can at my height...I've got a standing ticket, of course) and I'll be sure to feedback on it at some point. 

I was thinking about wearing this dress on Saturday. I bought it recently at a car boot sale and picked it up for the bargain price of £3 - pretty pleased with that! I don't own a lace dress and I thought it would be perfect for the winter months so I just had to buy it. It's quite a unique style and I love everything about it, from the collar, to the bows, to the slightly high waist line. I definitely wish I had some better heels to go with it though... maybe some Jeffrey Campbells or these, these, or these

Green Paisley Dress

I made this dress recently planning to put it in my shop but accidentally ended up making it smaller than I planned! (You can still buy it in my shop if you want) but I'm not overly bothered if I don't sell this one as it's definitely something I'd be happy to keep for myself! I can't tell you how much I love this fabric. It's come out quite blue in these photos but in real-life it's slightly more turquoise-y. My mum loved it so much, she's commissioned me to make a similar dress for her (hopefully in return for a pair of shoes!). I haven't worn this necklace in ages (some of my long lasting followers may remember the stage I went through where it would turn up in every single blog post) but I'd really like to wear it a bit more. This Office heels go with lots of things which is pretty handy. I've probably mentioned this before but they didn't actually come like this and I added the lacey-white fabric onto them so that I could wear them to my Year 11 prom last year.

Topshop and Prada

Good luck to everyone who's getting results this week! I've been trying not to think too much about it but results day seems to have suddenly crept up on me! I'm in a slight panic mode though at the moment (I've got lots of coursework to get through before I go away on holiday and I'm nowhere near finishing). Anyway, nothing like a bit of fashion to take your mind of things....

Have you seen these shoes?! They're from Prada and they're made of such a gorgeous blue velvet material. (I'm selling them in my shop if you want to have a look.). My top and skirt are both new and from Topshop. I bought them in the sale when postage was free so managed to bag them for a total of £11 - not bad, I thought. I've only had this top for a week or so but I've found it so useful and it goes with basically everything.

I can now call myself a designer

I'm so excited about this post and the fact that my handmade clothes are soon and now available to buy. I've only put up one thing in my shop but have 3 more items nearly ready and waiting as soon as my zips and thread arrive in the post! I'm very proud of my dress below. It has no mistakes or anything wrong with it at all. I've posted it here and on my asos marketplace. I've also got new vintage/pre-worn clothes being posted at some point next week so look out for that. 

I instantly fell in love with this fabric and had to buy it. I've got lots more left so I'll definitely be making more things with it. The dress is fully lined (I've actually really started to like lining my garments. It reduces the amount of hemming needed, which is something that always frustrates me). Anyway, I hope you like the dress and be sure to come back to check for my other pieces!
